Give Thanks for Your Feet!

It’s the season to be thankful and at Central Jersey Ankle & Foot Care Specialists we think it’s a good time to pause and be grateful for all your feet do for you. Enduring thousands of pounds of pressure every day as you walk, run, play, exercise, shop and work, your feet are what enable you to do activities both mundane and spectacular. Not to mention, without your feet, think how limited life would be. So say “thank you” to your feet with one of these treats:

  1. Get Your Feet Professionally Measured. Did you know that as you age your foot size changes? Also, most people have one foot larger than the other. Studies show that a large percentage of people are wearing shoes that are too small for them. Footwear that squeezes the toes and forces them into the front of the shoe can lead to several painful problems such as bunions and hammertoe. Get measured and get the right size for you now.
  2. Splurge on a Good Pair of Shoes. Once you know your size, get yourself a well-made pair of shoes either that you are going to wear on a daily basis or purchase a specialty pair for a sport or activity that you enjoy. Different sports cause your feet to move in different ways and shoes are designed to support your feet in specific ways. Having the right shoe for the activity you will be doing can make participating more comfortable and also protect your feet from injury.
  3. Indulge in a Rich Moisturizer. The temperature goes down and the heat in homes, offices and shopping malls goes up causing skin to dry out. Give your feet a massage at the end of the day with a rich, emollient cream or lotion—not only will it feel great, you’ll help keep skin supple and free from flaking and painful cracking.
  4. Don’t Wait if You’re in Pain. One of the best ways to treat your feet right is not to delay visiting our Aberdeen office if you are experiencing pain or discomfort. Most conditions will only get worse by delaying treatment. Our podiatrists, Dr. Christopher J. Mullin, Dr. Jessica A. Addeo and Dr. Rajan Patel will provide a prompt diagnosis and the proper care and treatment to keep your feet healthy and supporting you in living the life you love. Contact us today for an appointment.
